Goodies!

So, it's payday, and traditionally on payday I tend to hop online and grab myself a few treats and things that I've been meaning to get for myself.

...Today, in addition to a Good Judy sampler pack of the newest April scents, I stopped by Etsy. Do I really need to say more??

This is relevant to my interests! No, really! (okay, I was totally browbeaten by the voices in my head into buying it, shut up, I always need new t-shirts. Really. Like a hole in the head. =P)

And they had the prettiest itty bitty lace knitting stitch markers and I looooooove those cracked beads. I have a ton of them. Mad love. ^_^

Wicked Stitchery also only had ONE victorian/steampunk inspired vest for a large sized dollfie boy left (they had three in different colors back when I last looked) so since it was the last one... welllllll... (I'm stockpiling clothes for the boy. He'll be here sometime months from now, but he'll need clothes!)

And lastly I'm totally addicted to the Virtual Perfume Bar and making up my own custom blended scents. This time around it was Berry Zinger (raspberry + ginger) and Fixer (nag champa, oak moss + earl grey tea... okay, technically it should be coffee, but coffee notes smell awful on me so I went for tea instead. =P)

Given how much crap this week has been, this has significantly brightened up my friday. ^_^
[rubs paws together] Yay, impulse buying goodies!

I know some of you are into the whole BPAL or other assorted brands of blend perfumes. I'm a big fan of them myself as standard commercial perfumes smell like utter chemical wasteland ass on me but a lot of the essential oil blends smell quite yummy and I can wear them without getting a raging migraine from how strong they are. Plus, they last FOREVER, one little dab to the wrist and it lasts all day in a nicely understated non overpowering way.

BPAL is not actually my drug of choice, though like many people that's where I started. No. Good Judy is my favoritest of the "larger" companies - I've sampled just about everything they have and have more bottles from them then from anyone else. 'Androgyne' and 'Gosurori' are my two best favorites - the first smells like sparkling uplifting something on me and the second smells like antique rose... REAL rose, not artificial. Like, concentrated liquified antique rose petals.

My newest passion is custom blended perfumes - ones where you pick 3-5 notes off a long list and they blend you a bottle of your own custom personal scent. I'm going to be making the rounds of people who offer custom blends on Etsy, but the first one just got here and OMG I had to start the pimpage:

The Virtual Perfume Bar - brand new, just opened. Nice long lists of scents to choose from. Blends range from $9 for a single note to $20 for a five note blend. I had a message via etsy that my perfume was created and in the mail within 24 hours of ordering, and it arrived two days later (one of which was probably due to snowpocalypse delays).

I ordered champagne, peach, and a little bit of clove. It's a nice big bottle of it, with a roll on applicator.

OMG. YUM. I just want to roll around in the smell of it, seriously. x____x I smell like clove gum. I LOVE IT. And omg, fast, friendly, just seriously, you couldn't ask for more. If you've ever looked at all the perfume blends that come out and gone "wow, I'd love that one EXCEPT for that one herb/wood/resin/floral in it..." then I can't encourage you enough to go check this place out and see if they can recreate it for you without the bits you don't like. Or make up something new and wild and totally unique.

I know I'll totally be going back to them. There's an earl grey, egyptian musk and frankincense blend calling my name. Also an oakmoss, bay rum and lemongrass. Oooh, and maybe that peach and white chocolate. I totally know where my smelly allowance is going for the next few months. x_x
