Oh, dear body.

glasmalereiOh, dear stupid dumbfuck goddamned body... did we REALLY need to re-enact the entire first-time-around college experience?
Complete with waking me up with the distinct sharp stabbing pains of my stomach attempting to eat its own damned lining??
(And of course, by the time the pain sets in, then you're just nauseated and even though the very first thing you OUGHT to do is grab a piece of bread or a banana or some milk and eat something an upset, in pain stomach will very naturally argue that this is the very LAST thing you WANT to do. [tells stomach to STFU, drinks water to dilute the stomach acid long enough to distract it, and then chokes down a piece of bread covered in peanut butter and nutella]
Fortunately, I have resources at 36 that I didn't have at 20, of which familiarity with symptoms and treatments is only part of it.
[falls back into bed]
[picks up celphone, tells boss that stomach "hates me", can u plz close for me and I'll swap you for wednesday? check.]
[picks up laptop and drags it closer for the purposes of a) attending class from bed and b)blogging venting about this really damned irritating start to a monday morning.]
And now I'm going to gnaw my way through the rest of this damned bread and hope my stomach shuts up enough to let me get some more sleep, as digesting something absorptive and then treating it nicely for the next 24 hours usually does the trick. Gnargh.
